This is too good not to post – a while back, SEOMoz put together a pretty awesome SEO Cheat Sheet for web developers. It’s informative, compact, and good practice for anyone who wants to give their site a leg up in the search engine rankings. There’s a wealth of information on search engine optimization, so much that it will make your head spin. There are a few tried and tested sure-fire ways to give your rankings a boost, and some are very fast and easy.
I recently discovered a cool little utility called Rank Checker, created by the guys over at SEOBook. This useful utility quickly tells you your search engine ranking (Google, Yahoo, and Bing) for any keyword and website! This is a real time saver, and can be handy if you’re trying to optimize your site. Unfortunately, SEOBook does force a compulsory registration on you to get the tool, but never fear – you can always use a throw-away mail account to ensure you don’t get spammed.
The best way to get Google to crawl your site and index your pages is to have a sitemap. Even better is a dynamically updated xml sitemap, but how do you create one? The easiest way is to use a sitemap generator. Input your site’s URL, and let this application do all the work – in just a few minutes (depending on the size of your site), you’ll have an XML sitemap ready to download. So now what do you do with it?
