We’ve all been there, right?  We delete a file, empty the recycle bin – and then realize we really shouldn’t have done that.  What to do?  Well, to start with, immediately stop using your PC, do not copy or move any files, and most importantly don’t run a defrag or format the hard drive :)

I stumbled across a neat little utility that saved me from having to recreate many hours of work. Restoration, a freeware file recovery software, is hands-down the best Windows utility I have used in recent years. It found files I had deleted years ago! The fact that the author gives it away for free is simply amazing, and it’s a standalone program, which means you don’t have to install it.  I’m more than happy to link back to the author’s site if someone can give me the URL, and pass the word around.

Give it a try, you may be glad you did :)

I found this blog while searching google. Quite impressive too, since google tends to display relatively old results but this one is very recent! Anyway, very informative, especially since this is not an issue a lot of people are able to write something good about. Take care…
